Bought a nice B9200 yesterday. Got it home and heard a clicking noise. We found the switch next to the headlights was on. What is that? Well it won't even turn over now. I tried to jump it without luck. What is the starting procedure for this tractor. I turned the key to the left and allowed it to prime and the glow plugs to heat. Won't even turn over. Any help for a newbie that doesn't know tractors.Thanks,Kevin

Try removing the dead battery and installing the one from your jump vehicle.
The thing I have noticed with any diesel is the glow plugs suck so much juice that jumping them with cables almost never works unless you have cables as big as welding cables.
or determine the proper charge rate and capacity of you dead battery and charge it up some of them can take 24 to 48 hrs to completely recharge. good luck ....

Most diesels are started by opening the hand throttle about half, pre-heating by turning the key to the left until the glow indicator is bright and then turning the key to the right to engage the starter. Almost all modern tractors are equipped with safety interlocks. They won't start unless the transmission is in neutral and the PTO is disengaged. Most diesels are shut down with a kill switch. Many kill switches operate when the hand throttle is at full minimum. The engine won't start with the throttle in that position. ....

It may be more simple than you think, most equipment has some form of safety interlock. Usually they will not crank unless they are in neutral, the clutch in and in gear it will not turn over. If it does not even crank then I would look for some such thing. If it cranks but will not fire check the mechanical feul kill, if it has one, since older large farm type tractors have ONLY this means of shut-down a lot of dealers/mechanics use it out of habit, but to forget/assume you will know. With this activated the pump will never deliver fuel to the injectors. Best of luck. ....

The switch that was left on was the flashers or hazard lights. There is a red knob on the lower right side of the dash, that is the kill switch and has to be in for the tractor to start. Also the clutch petal has to be down for it to turn over. Charge the battery and then try to start it. Turn the key to the left for at least 30 sec. and then to the right to start it. with a good battery it should start right up. These are great tractors, just sold my B8200HST and got a B2710. Good luck with it.

Update: I had changed the fuel and air filters when I got the tractor. I opened the filter holder tonight and found that it only had about 15% of the casing full of fuel. Air in the fuel line. I filled it with diesel and tired again, still no luck.
I walked down the road and found the local diesel mechanic in his yard (he owes me a few favors) and he looked it over. He showed me the two air bleed valves and we tired them, without success. Next he cracked the top of one of the injectors and we watched the fuel bleed out with foam coming with it (the air in the line). He cracked the top of each of the four injectors and I turned it over a few times. He locked them back down and she started right up. Success. ....
